Founded in Aachen. At home in manufacturing.
production.AI grew out of what industry needed, not out of an idea at a desk. We founded the company in Aachen at the end of 2023 and today we are based on the RWTH Aachen Campus.
Our background is mechanical manufacturing. It started with individual pilot projects, and afterwards customers wanted more: to realise the potential over the long term, with a partner who stays on after the project.
In many plants the data has long been there. Yet improvement remains a project with a beginning and an end. We wanted it to become a daily routine.
From science we took the standard of judging independently. production.AI is not tied to any machine manufacturer and also connects mixed machine parks. What the platform shows you follows from your data.

How we work with customers
Close to the line
We start on the shop floor, not with a requirements specification. First machines, first causes, first actions – and we build out from there.
Honest about the product
We show what is running and call development by its name. Your team makes the decisions; we make sure they rest on the complete picture.
The real work starts after the roll-out
Production changes every day. That is why the real work only begins once the roll-out is done.

ReTool
Platform concept for resource-efficient tool management
ReTool is a modular platform for circular tool management in toolmaking and manufacturing companies. From IoT and machine data and digital twins, a continuous tool record is to be created for every tool: use, condition, maintenance and repairs in one place. The aim is to reduce failures, plan maintenance ahead of time and base decisions on reuse, reconditioning or recycling on data. CSRD-relevant sustainability indicators are also to be derived directly from these data, with less manual effort in reporting.

CISP
Digital and sustainable production in the German-Dutch border region
In the CISP research project, production.AI and Kupron Bv are working to support small manufacturing businesses in the German-Dutch border region in digitalising their production. Injection moulding and milling machines are to be connected with intelligent software. The aim is to reduce scrap and failures and to manufacture small product series flexibly and with fewer resources. The cross-border collaboration is intended to create a transferable model for sustainable production.
